St George's Day 2010

What a fantastic day we had.  It began with each class taking a county and finding out information about their county.  On Friday everyone was wearing red and white to mark the occasion.  We had a very entertaining assembly with some of the staff acting out the Legend of St George.

The princess then officially opened Ye Olde Grande Tournament, and the festivities commenced...

Around the school 6 exciting activities were set up and each county (class) participated in all of the activities.  We got to race horses,

throw quoits,

wang our wellies,

joust,

run the gauntlet

and do some sheep rustling!

The children scored points for each activity and these were added up at the end of the tournament.

The winning subject from each county was knighted by St George and the Princess in a special ceremony at the end of the day.  Congratulations to all the knights; Sir Josh of Warwickshire, Lady Molly Of Cornwall, Sir Kian of Nottinghamshire, Sir Liam of Herefordshire, Lady Emily of Hampshire, Sir Hayden of Lancashire.

This event was a sponsored event to raise money which will be shared between school funds and Sport Relief.  We  raised the grand total of ...

£454.78.

Well done everyone.
