NewsPan in Bloom All the children from Gardening Club have been working hard digging and planting the allotment with lovely vegetables. We have grown runner beans, tomatoes, lettuce, marrows, sweet corn and potatoes. They have been planting pots and bags with a host of flowers since February. The children have been watering at lunchtime using the water from the water butts. They have been growing seeds and planting out the borders around the school ready for entering the 'Pan in Bloom' and 'South East in Bloom' competitions. We were judged for South East in Bloom back in June and won the gold award. The judging for Pan in Bloom was judged by Alan Titchmarsh and the presentation was on October 13th. We won Best Initiative For Young People, which was for all the flowers and pots. We also won Young People's Healthy Eating Award, which was for the growing of the vegetables and maintaining the allotment. Finally we also won 'runners up' for the best overall award. The children are really pleased with their achievements. Well done to you all. |
