NewsLego Workshops for Key Stage 1 Children in Key Stage 1 from Barton and Summerfields enjoyed a special day building lego houses as part of their topic. Their families were invited to join them and many took advantage of this offer and had a fun-filled time. During the morning session Year 1 pupils worked carefully together to create fabulous houses and gardens, adding many extras to their dream homes. During the afternoon session Year 2 pupils built their properties and shared this fabulous experience with their families.
Competition was rife, especially between the dads - who could build the biggest and best house? There were many brilliant variations and unusual designs and ideas. Mr Garside, the lego man himself, was impressed with the thought and creativity that took place and commented that several of the buildings were designs that he would not have come up with himself, such as Mr Catania's chalet bungalow
and Mr Webb's school.
Whilst everyone was busy creating and being innovative with their houses Mr Garside built a road which looked very sad all by itself - if you look carefully you might just see some tumbleweed blowing along the road!!
However after all the hard work and the sheer genius of the children and their families it was transformed into this...
Here we all are with our finished road that looks unbelievably brilliant. Everyone was extremely well behaved, and it was decided that it had been one of the best mornings ever and the children enjoyed it too!!
