Newport Winter Carnival 2007

On Saturday 15th December Barton Carnival Club braved the freezing elements to participate in Newport Winter Carnival 2007.

They made up 50 of the entrants in the parade of around 300.  Their cracker lanterns shone brightly and their cracker costumes glittered as they paraded through the streets of Newport.  They really stood out, and even the County Press used them as inspiration for their headline for the event
"Newport is a cracker of a carnival".

Well done to the children and their families who have given up so much of their time after school to create the wonderful costumes and to parade on a Saturday.

Their efforts paid off and they were ecstatic to receive second place.
