The end of Geography Week was marked with the Family Healthy Picnic. The whole school and many of their family members all gathered on the field at 1pm to enjoy a healthy picnic in the glorious summer sunshine which had come out just for the occasion!

After the food was eaten, we were treated to a wonderful display by our country dancing club, who performed many dances, including a lively jig around the maypole. They showed us a new dance that they had learned and then invited everyone to join in. Many people leapt to their feet and a huge circle was formed and everyone enjoyed learning the special wedding dance.

Meridian TV also turned up to video everyone having fun.

Then the children took their family members around the school to admire all the wonderful displays and work from Geography Week. The families were very impressed and commented on how especially interested and enthusiastic their children had been about this weeks activities.
