NewsHistory Week
History Week was a great success, with every class learning about life from the past. We had many visitors who helped make history come to life. Margaret Bunyard from Wessex archaeology held an extremely interesting assembly all about the history of Pan, using artefacts found on the recent archaeological dig. Children are now designing a time capsule and a logo to be stamped on it. The winning design will be made for us by the students of Cowes High School. The children are also thinking of small items that represent life today which can be placed inside the capsule which is to be buried somewhere within the school grounds. To mark the end of History Week everyone in the school dressed up in a costume from the past. There were many fantastic ideas which included Romans, knights, chimney sweeps, pirates and hippies. As you can see from the photograph the staff were all in fine form and looking hysterical, oops I mean historical! Friday afternoon was an open afternoon, giving the parents/carers and their families the chance to look around at the work that has been taking place this week, and to join in with the many activities put on by the children.
